Maharajah's College of Pharmacy introduced the Course of M-Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Techonology) during the academic year 2010-2011 with an intake of 18 seats and M-Pharmacy(Pharmaceutical Analysis) during the academic year 2012 - 2013 with 18 seats. The regulation and syllabi are subject to modifications by the Academic Council from time to time.

REGULATIONS
1. Eligibility:
A candidate who has passed B.Pharm degree examination of any recognized University and has secured not less than 5% of the maximum marks (aggregate of four years) prescribed for the qualification examination shall be eligible for the admission to the M.Pharm course.
2. Regulation:
A Candidate admitted to the Master of Pharmacy course shall submit the prescribed application form for registration duly filled along with prescribed fee and declaration in the format within 10 days from the cut-off date prescribed for Master of Pharmacy course for admission.
3. Duration of the Course:
The course of study including submission of dissertation shall be of 24 months (two years) duration from the commencement of academic term. The study of M.Pharm course shall be of annual system that includes M.Pharm part-I, extending for twelve months from the commencement of academic term and M.Pharm part-II of twelve months duration.
4. Medium of Instructions:
English shall be the medium of instruction for all the subjects of study for examinations of the M. Pharm course.
5. Working Days in Academic Year:
In Part - I Each semester shall consist of not less than 75 working days.
6. Attendance and Progress :
A candidate required to put in at least 75% attendance in theory and practical subject separately to be eligible for appearing in the university examinations.
7. Examination:
There shall be examination for at the end of each semester. For M.Pharm Part-II, the examination shall be an evaluation of dissertation and viva-voce at the end of the academic year.
8. Scheme of Examination:
Theory :
Two sessional examinations shall be conducted by the college in every semester for 20 (twenty) marks each, and the average is considered and send to the university.
Practical :
Students are expected to perform the experiment listed in the respective subject. The evolution is a continuous process which is based on student attendance, practical performance, viva-voce and record work.

M.Pharm. Part-II Dissertation:
Every candidate pursuing M. Pharm course is required to carry out work on a selected research project under the guidance of a recognized postgraduate teacher. The results of such a work shall be submitted in the form of a dissertation.
The dissertation is aimed to train a postgraduate student in research methods and techniques. It includes identification of the problem, formulation of a hypothesis, review of literature, getting acquainted with recent advances, designing of a research study, collection of data, critical analysis, and comparison of results and drawing conclusions.
Every candidate pursuing M. Pharm course is required to carry out work on a selected research project under the guidance of a recognized postgraduate teacher. The results of such a work shall be submitted in the form of a dissertation.

The written text of dissertation shall be not less than 50 pages and shall not exceed 150 pages excluding references, tables, questionnaires and other annexure. It should be neatly typed with double line spacing on one side of the bond paper (A4size, 8.27" x 11.69”) and bound properly. Spiral binding should be avoided. The dissertation shall be certified by the guide and co-guide if any, Head of the Department and Head of the Institution. The dissertation shall be submitted at least one month before the end of M. Pharm Part II term.
A guide shall be a full time post graduate teacher of the institution for supervision of dissertation work. However a co - guide can be opted wherever required.
Three copies of the dissertation duly certified by the guide, head of the department and the principal shall be submitted to the university for evaluation
The Viva-Voce examination shall aim at assessing the depth of knowledge, logical reasoning, confidence and oral communication skills. The Viva-Voce examination shall be held after the submission of dissertation. If any candidate fails to submit the dissertation on or before the date prescribed, his/her Viva-Voce shall be conducted during the subsequent examination which shall not be earlier than six months from the date fixed in the first instance. Examiners: There shall be at least two examiners in each branch of specialization, out of them one shall be external examiner and the other one shall be the internal examiner (the guide).

Minimum qualification for admission to the course:
Duration of the Course:
The course of study for B.Pharm shall extend over a period of four academic years and three academic years for those admitted to second B. Pharm directly. The curricula and syllabi for the course shall be prescribed from time to time.
Medium of Instruction and Examinations:
Medium of Instruction and Examination shall be English.
Working Days in the Academic Year:
Each academic year shall consist of not less than 200 working days.or each semester shall consist of not less than 75 working days.
Attendance and Progress :
A candidate is required to put in at least 75% attendance in theory and practical subjects separately. The candidate shall complete the prescribed course satisfactorily to be eligible to appear for the respective examinations.
Course of study:
The course of study of B.Pharmacy I, II, III and IV year shall include the respective Theory & Practical subjects. The number of hours to be devoted to each theory is 60 (sixty) hrs. and practical subject is 90 (Ninty) hrs.
Academic Work:
A regular record of attendance both in Theory and Practical shall be maintained by the teaching staff of respective subjects.
Internal Assessment Marks :
The college shall maintain the sessional books of the students and the record of sessional award of the students. A regular record of both theory and practical class work and sessional examinations conducted in an institution imparting the course shall be maintained for each student in the institution.
Conditions under which candidates are permitted to appear for annual university examination
The candidates are required to score a minimum of 50% marks in each of the subjects (Theory and practicals separately) in the sessional examination to be eligible to appear for annual university examination in the respective subject.
University Examinations

Maharajah's College of Pharmacy offered Diploma Course(D-Pharmacy). This Course Contains two (2) year full time diploma programme in pharmacy which is recognized by Government of Andhra Pradesh and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi with an intake of 60 seats.
A programme specifically designed to create professionals who will make a mark in the pharmaceutical industry. On completion of the programme the students can get registration as pharmacist and can run their own medical shops. The D.Pharm course is a two years course for which the Directorate of Medical Education, conducts the qualifying examinations. In this course, the students are well equipped and trained to prepare and dispense the pharmaceutical dosage forms. They also receive in-plant training in government hospitals at the headquarters through which the communication skill with the patients and the confidence towards the profession are improved significantly.
Minimum qualification for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy :
Provided that there shall be reservation of seats for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidate in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Govt./ State Govt./ Union Territory administration as the case may be from time to time.
Eligibility Certificate:
Candidates, who have not passed their 10+2 examination from the AP Board of Intermediate, need to produce the certificate and the Mark sheet of the examination given by them.
Programme Duration:
The duration of the course is of 2 years with each academic year spread over not less than 180 working days in addition to 500 hours practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months.
Selection Procedure:
Entrance on the basis of 10+2 marks or equivalent examination by Govt. Polytechnic College.
Application Form:
The application form is available at the Maharajah's College of Pharmacy for the first year admission to the Diploma course in Pharmacy on payment of prescribed application form fees. The application form duly completed along with the required documents is to be submitted to the Institute office within 10 days.
The above certificates should be duly attested by the Principal of the School or Gazette Officer of the State, Central Govt./ Sub-Division Magistrate or any other authority who is authorized to attest the certificates.
Programme Fee:
The yearly fees for Diploma course in Pharmacy will be prescribed by the Director of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The students will have to pay the difference in the fees paid at the time of admission and that announced/fixed by the SSS even at a later date. The refund of fees shall be as per the direction of the Government.
